Master of Science in Sport Business

Lead strategic initiatives in the highly competitive, ever-evolving sport industry with the Master of Science in Sport Business in Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management. This graduate degree equips students with the expertise necessary to manage the day-to-day aspects of the field and make strategic business decisions related to sport education, management, policymaking, research and supervision.

You can tailor your graduate degree to meet your professional goals through four areas of concentration that emphasize the theoretical foundation of sport business. You’ll also think analytically and critically about top issues facing professional sport teams, college athletics and sport business such as event and venue management, sales and promotion, and sport analytics.

Faculty Research

As former and current high-ranking executives in sport business and/or consultants for athletes, events and sport leagues, Sport Business MS faculty bring decades of experience to the classroom. You will engage in and collaborate on key research initiatives such as studying the consumer data that helps organizations build their brand, gain sponsorships and support communities, as well as the benefits of major sporting events. Concentrations

You can focus on Sport Business or you can take one of the following concentrations.

  • Athletics Administration

    Become an effective manager for organizations that oversee student-athlete programs. Facilitate the leadership of student-athletes in schools and at the college level. Engage critical issues in development, governance and policymaking.

Focus on areas including parks and recreation departments, youth sport development, and programming for diverse populations. Tuition rates are set annually by the university and are affected by multiple factors, including program degree level (undergraduate or graduate), course load (full- or part-time), in-state or out-of-state residency, and more. These tuition costs apply to the 2023–2024 academic year.

Pennsylvania resident: $956.00 per credit
Out-of-state: $1,100.00 per credit
