Simulation Lab

The Nursing Resource Center at Temple’s Health Sciences Center campus is a simulation-based learning environment that utilizes state-of-the-art technology to replicate clinical practice in a safe environment. Nursing students will be able to develop their critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills by participating in real-life situations in a controlled simulated setting with guidance from faculty.

You will be introduced to simulation-based learning during your first nursing course, returning to the simulation lab every semester to participate in a variety of patient and community scenarios that increase in complexity as your nursing knowledge and skill grows.

Clinical Rotations

Students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program complete 970 hours of clinical experience in community and hospital settings.

During clinical and field rotations, students will develop and demonstrate their ability to assess patient needs, analyze and interpret patient data, communicate with all members of an interprofessional team, distribute medications with supervision in a timely fashion, document appropriate information in the electronic health record, organize their work, and safely and capably provide complete physical care.

The Department of Nursing has more than 100 clinical contracts and 15 affiliate agreements with regional hospitals, as well as multiple community organizations and nonprofits.
