How to Apply

To apply, submit Temple's online graduate application along with an online application fee of $60. You will also need to provide the general supporting materials outlined below, as well as complete this application questionnaire.

This Master of Fine Arts program admits a cohort every three years. Applications for admission to the next cohort will be accepted in spring 2025 for fall 2025 matriculation.

General Supporting Materials

  • Official Transcripts: Submit official transcripts reflecting a bachelor’s degree. Submit official transcripts directly from the institution electronically to tfma@temple.edu. You may also have your transcripts mailed by your institution to the address below.
  • Goals Statement: Submit a 500 word statement of goals.
  • Recommendations: Submit three letters of recommendation.
  • Résumé: Submit a current professional résumé.

Additional Requirements for International Applicants

International applicants must send TOEFL or IELTS scores. The minimum scores required for admission are

  • TOEFL: 100 iBT, or
  • IELTS: 6.0.
