Faculty for the Doctor of Philosophy in Media and Communication program work in a variety of research areas, including
communication effects and psychological processes;
emerging media and technology;
global media, social change and activism;
journalism studies;
media, identity and representation;
political communication;
popular communication; and
the media industry, laws and policies.
Students in the Media and Communication PhD program have the opportunity to present their research at the annual Graduate Research Forum. This competitive conference, organized by a team of students and faculty, allows student to share their work and receive constructive feedback in a supportive environment.
