How To Apply

Complete the online LASS application form. Students are selected on the basis of their intellectual resolve, emotional maturity and satisfaction of the following prerequisites.

  • Enrollment as a full-time matriculated student.
  • Completion of a minimum of one semester of university-level Spanish, with preference given to students with at least two semesters of university-level Spanish.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 with preference given to a GPA of 3.0 and above.
  • A student record clear of academic and disciplinary probation or warning.
  • A valid U.S. passport. All students must provide passport information by the first week of December. No visa is necessary for U.S. citizens.

Application Deadline

Applications are recieved between April and November every year for the following spring semester. 

Additional Fees

In addition to the university tuition for the 17-credit hour program, the LASS program has an additional fee of $1,000 (subject to change). The fee is incorporated into the tuition for one of the LASS courses and is paid as part of the student spring registration. The fee includes

  • housing, 
  • meals, 
  • courses and 
  • excursions in Ecuador. 

Students are responsible for arranging and purchasing round-trip airline tickets.
