Careers

The advanced skills gained from a graduate degree in the College of Liberal Arts are highly relevant in today’s rapidly evolving world. You will form expertise through rigorous coursework and research to meet your professional and personal goals.

The Psychology PhD program is dedicated to producing well-trained psychologists for careers in academics and research, or in applied settings.

While many students remain in the higher education setting, as either professors or researchers, other students pursue careers as clinicians. There are also opportunities to apply your skills and knowledge in areas such as data science, market research, social work and criminal justice.

Clinical Psychology Internship

Students who specialize in Clinical Psychology are required to complete an internship, as well as a clinical practicum. Temple’s psychology clinics allow students to work directly with patients, alongside faculty and fellow students, further developing the skills necessary to practice psychology at the professional level.
