Graduates of the Middle Grades Education MEd program typically pursue middle grades teaching positions in grades 4 through 8. Others move into education-related positions in other types of organizations.

Temple Teacher Residency Program

If you are interested in gaining certification, you can explore the Temple Teacher Residency program.

This is an innovative urban STEM teacher education program that provides simultaneous school-based teaching experience and graduate education to individuals who are committed to becoming science and math teachers in Philadelphia’s high-needs middle schools. Through this accelerated one-year master’s program, you’ll receive financial support while teaching collaboratively with an experienced mentor for a full academic year in a middle school classroom in an urban public school.

Field Experience & Student Teaching 

As part of your academic program, you will gain firsthand knowledge in classrooms through immersive field placements and student teaching experiences.

As part of its mission to give back to the surrounding community and provide substantive fieldwork experiences for its students, the College of Education and Human Development has formed partnerships with more than 25 institutions and organizations.
