Temple’s Career Center is another resource that empowers students to find pathways to future success. The Career Center offers comprehensive career development services, from résumés and interviews to finding internships and jobs. 

A robust network of alumni in leading firms, agencies and organizations and faculty members who work in the field connect students with opportunities for mentorship and internships. Students connect with a plethora of arts projects, programs, studios, workshops, design firms, art centers and collections through internships, residencies and other opportunities listed in Tyler’s biweekly newsletter, The WHAT.

By integrating theory, interdisciplinary practice and experiential learning, Tyler’s architecture and environmental design programs prepare students to be job-ready on day one, with the capacity to grow as leaders and innovators in a range of careers. 

Tyler’s curriculum extends from the classroom into the real world of Philadelphia, where students engage in field research and partner with professionals and organizations. This approach launches graduates who are bold problem-solvers into successful careers as architects, educators, facility managers, historic preservationists, landscape architects, sustainability experts, urban planners and more.  

Career Services 

Architecture and Environmental Design Career Fair

Each spring, Tyler hosts an Architecture and Environmental Design Career Fair for all majors and class levels interested in internships and full-time opportunities in the built environment professions. Prior to the fair, Tyler’s professional programs administrator helps prepare students to conduct research and become standout candidates. 

The Philadelphia Architecture and Design College Fair

Each fall, Tyler hosts the Philadelphia Architecture and Design College Fair, where students can meet with representatives from nationally recognized programs in architecture and environmental design disciplines. 

Mentorship Program 

Tyler’s mentorship program for 4+1 architecture students prepares them for real-world career experiences. Students are matched with professionals who meet with them regularly throughout the year, giving students insight into the field they hope to enter and the various career paths. This program also helps students build their portfolio, create connections and investigate the day-to-day realities of a career in architecture.
