Prerequisites

Your transcript should show geology courses to prepare you for advanced level graduate classes and instructing undergraduates. You should also have at least one year of college-level chemistry, calculus and either physics or biology.

Additional Requirements for International Applicants

For applicants whose native language is not English, the TOEFL is required. The minimum score for the TOEFL is 85 iBT or 620 PBT.

Admissions Deadline

  • Fall: Jan. 15
  • Spring: Oct. 15

​For full consideration, applications must be submitted by the deadline. Late applications may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants should target Fall entry as Spring admission is rare.

Program admissions are limited and competitive. Applicants are expected to contact the faculty in their area of interest prior to submitting an application.
