Regular concerts of new student compositions provide the unique and essential experience of hearing your works performed, and allows you the opportunity to gauge your progress in relation to that of your peers. Works of established 20th-century composers are performed by the New Music Ensemble and the Contemporary Music Ensemble.

The program also stresses collaborative opportunities with other creative majors on campus, such as filmmakers and dancers.
