Klein Scholarships

All Temple University students are automatically considered for need-based academic scholarships. There are also grants and educational loans available for all students. Learn more about financial aid options for Temple students.

In addition to university scholarships and financial aid, there are several internal and external scholarships available through Klein College of Media and Communication. 

Below are examples of scholarships available to incoming first-year and enrolled Klein students. 

  • The Steve Charles Scholarship Fund is open to incoming first-year Klein students who graduated from urban high school districts and have financial need.

  • The George P. and Martina Jennings Endowed Scholarship Fund is open to Klein students in any major in their junior year who demonstrate financial need and have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

  • The Robert Shackleton Endowed Scholarship Fund is open to students majoring in film and media arts, theater, or media studies and production and gives preference to those interested in on-screen or public performance.

Department Scholarships

Along with universitywide scholarships, students in the audio and live entertainment program may qualify for additional scholarship opportunities.

  • The Casimir Garin Pokorny Scholarship provides eight separate awards of $5,000 per year each for students with financial need who plan to enroll in Klein College of Media and Communication’s new Audio and Live Entertainment Major.
  • The Music Business Association Scholarship provides $5,000 for full-time students from Association Academic Partners or member companies with financial need and a demonstrated desire to pursue a career in the music industry. 

Financial Aid

Federal Stafford Loans

Applying for federal Stafford loans requires completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). At Temple University, unsubsidized Stafford loans are available to full-time students up to a maximum amount of $20,500 annually.

Federal Work-study

Eligibility for the Federal Work-study Program is based on the applicant’s need as determined by the information on the applicants FAFSA. In addition, students must be enrolled at least half time and maintain satisfactory academic progress. Students are paid biweekly for hours worked.
