Internships & Opportunities
The College of Liberal Arts encourages undergraduate students to participate in internships to prepare for their future careers. Students can apply the core skills they learn in their degree programs⸺how to think critically, solve problems and communicate effectively⸺in real-world professional settings.
Students in the Spanish BA program may earn up to three credits through approved internship placements at several organizations in the Philadelphia region, including the following.
- Puentes Hacia El Futuro, which translates to “Bridges Toward the Future,” aims to improve the educational achievement of children in the South Philadelphia Latino immigrant community.
- Project SHINE (Students Helping in the Naturalization of Elders) seeks to ease the integration of older immigrants into American society. Student workers tutor immigrants in English, work skills and other aspects of cultural literacy.
